ABOUT THE ARTIST
LUMBU M
Doudou Mbemba Lumbu (LUMBU M)
Born in 1978 in Boma, where he lives. He graduated in Plastic Arts from the Academy of
Fine Arts in Kinshasa. He created various frescoes in Kinshasa, the largest of which is
conserved at the Academy of Fine Arts. In his easel paintings, as in the work for Imago
Mundi his style is made up of rapid strokes, di tocco (of touch), suspended on a thin
line between figuration and aniconism.
